No 1 daddy

Helloooo, and a Happy Fathers Day to all the wonderful Dads out there. This is what I made for David from us lot in the Hanson household. A papier mache 3 dimensional heart, altered with paints, crackle medium, grunge paste, chipboard number and epoxy letters, all treated with acrylic paint and some Washi tape.
The star has been made by using PaperArtsy Grunge paste through a star shape stencil onto plastic packaging. When dried peeled off and stuck two back to back then painted with Fresco and Eco green paints. The texture from the Grunge Paste( which I love the stuff) and silver paint has given it a faux oldy metal look. The mask I used is the Harlequin Stencil from Imagination Crafts.
I will say this, whilst making this, everything that could go wrong, did and it was done over a few times before even getting to decorate it. Seriously if it had been just a project it would have taken a long trip up the alley, but knowing I was making for my David, who is a wonderful Daddy and the best partner, I persevered and hope he likes it now. and a prayer for my Dad who is in Heaven.
Have a great day whatever you do.

Bright n full altered envelope

Hello and thanks for popping by. My project started off as being just a quick make for Stampotique designer challenge, create from an envelope and Jez Butterworth's sample.
So I made the envelope using my Ultimate Pro and decorated with scraps left over from some alcohol ink and water dipping done last week. Then it grew, I decided to incorporate other challenges in and this was the finished result. A bright summer feel altered envelope. I've used various die cuts, Martha Stewart hydrangea punch, clay molds for circles, bow, frame, butterflies and letters. dylusions stamps, Stampotique flower stamp, ribbon, buttons, chipboard butterfly. A bit of masking. Mediums used are acrylic paints, lavender stazon ink, gold gilding crème and matt medium.4

Here's the challenges I'd like to enter:

Stampotique SDC103 create from an envelope
Simon says stamp show - buttons
Country View Crafts challenge die cuts
Stamping Sensations summer blooms

Alpha challenge entry 2 and news

Me again back with my second entry for the letter F for The Craft Barn Alpha Challenge The new letter will be given tomorrow. This time I chose Femme Fatale. The image was printed free lineart from Devinart. Coloured with pro and flex markers. She was so detailed and a joy to sit and colour. I've done. A simple layout for her, so the focus remains on our femme fatale. Hand drawn cobbles with a charcoal pencil and pumice stone and black soot distress inks used through that special touch brick mask. The barb wire is from Visible Image immortal love set. Now I didn't want her to look like a hooker standing on a street, so set her on a stage, curtains made using keepsake embossing boards coloured with markers and silver pen.
Now onto my brilliant news. I've been successful and lucky to now be on the new Imagination Crafts challenges design team, ran by the lovely Linda Simpson. The links are on my sidebar and our first challenge starts on 1st July so I do hope you'll come join in and also see the marvellous team samples and products from Imagination Crafts.
Thanks for popping by please leave a comment as I do enjoy reading them.

Alpha challenge fe - fr

Hello, what glorious weather we're having, so much so I chose warm colours for these pages. At The Craft Barn Alpha Challenge the letter given was between fe and fr. I chose, wait for it....flatulence. yes you read correctly. A bit of fun. I did start with oil pastels background but didn't like it so out came the gesso and Eco Green acrylic paints applied with a sponge. Dylusions 9x12 stencil and some background stamping courtesy of the delectable Tim Holtz bitty grunge set. Then using a toothbrush I've flicked gold paint and then gold stickles to shine.
The main images, borders etc are from various Dylusions sets onto papers from Papermania Bookprint. Now onto my Queen. I stamped Doo Lally Doris onto paper and cut out the parts I wanted. Used part of a border stamp and cut into pieces to make arms n legs. Attached together with mini brads. She moves lovely.
Now my head. I'm rather proud of this, its a photo from a magazine transferred onto packaging tape, and it worked. Yey. Then a simple hand drawn crown adorned with sparkly gems. So here's my page and I hope I've given a little chuckle along the way.
I also had the pleasure of winning the challenge for my K for Knickers entry, I just cant decide what to spend my winners voucher on, I thing its gonna be some paperartsy fresco paints.

Summer brights

Hiya, what a nice change to have some lovely Sun to cheer away the rainy days. Here's I've made a bright summer themed card. The background is acrylic paints on canvas sheet. I've used an Andy Skinner tornado stencil and JOFY stamps for the background. Flowers from Dylusions are stamped on acrylic paint coloured card and cut out, centred with fabulous buttons. Midge from Stampotique stamped on a gesso'd dictionary page cut out and placed on the path of flowers. Hand written words on some scrap sprayed card. The little strips are kitchen roll sprayed leftovers. Tim Holtz tiny attacher to finish.

Tando arch young love

Good afternoon, here's my latest project I'd like to show you. It's full of different techniques and to write a full description would be an essay, so I'll summarise.
It all started with some challenges in mind as listed below.
Materials used:
Tando Creative Straight Edge Arches Large and Minis - Hearts
Tando Creative Diamond Stencil
Paper Artsy Stamps Young Love 2, Diamond mini, Hotpicks backgrounds
Hero arts stamp, French Script
Eco Green Crafts acrylic paints
White tissue paper
Polyfilla (yes the diy stuff in a tube)used through mask and in mould for rosette centre
Fimo for the cherub,
clay & Martha Stewart butterfly mould for cherub's wings and leaves
Tim Holtz Sizzix rosette die, chipboard flower
Clear UTEE, purple, lilac, Artic Lake utee powders
Melt Pot, heat tool, crop a dile,
Matte medium, Matte gel medium, pinflair glue gel, glossy accents
Buttons, beads, chain, mini metal tag, clear glass heart

I really enjoyed putting this together, using the colours in the Tando challenge. I found embossing the stamped image on the tissue paper made it easier to adhere without tearing. Matt medium gave better results for this over the gel medium. I did play with the utee, making a large thick piece, breaking it up and heating it onto the frame starting with a thinner piece made first acting like a glue. Getting the melt pot out seems liberating as its been a wee while, thanks Hels Sheridan for the spark in the ole brain.
Thanks for popping by today and I really do appreciate your comments.

K for knickers

Here's my entry in my altered dictionary for the letter K. I chose knickers. Background made with acrylic paints. Some polyfilla through a tando stencil which I've coloured over and around with ink and pencils.
My main images are houses stamps from The Artistic Stamper and the other ones I've used are dylusions stamps. I've drawn the knickers on the washing line. Lol. Just in case you think why houses and knickers. Well behind comin up from the houses are two poles which depict a washing line and seeing as many hang out washing within their gardens n yards, thought it worked well, creative license is great. Anyhow that's my k offering. On to the next letter now.

Coloured with tim Holtz pens, their first proper outing, and I'm impressed. So I'd like to enter this into the challenge at INDIGO BLU FLOWERS and also STAMPOTIQUE DESIGNERS CHALLENGE ANYTHING GOES and COUNTRY VIEW CRAFTS CHALLENGE May challenge

Alpha challenge A

Hiya, wow can't believe we're into May already and nearly another year older. The weather is warmer and its nice to get out in the back yard and play.
Here's my first altered dictionary page for the current Alpha Challenge at The Craft Barn. This time we're given the letter A. I chose Achromatic. I had a little fun with my creative licence. The background is made using acrylic paints and black and white gesso. Stamps are from The Octopode Factory. I drew the little camera for the bird, this is meant to be the one who's broken the story of Rapunzel and The Kid. I cut tiny letters and words from an old book to make the headline under the definition. So a bit of fun and a bit of mess, excellent. Thanks for popping by. Do check out the challenge and join in.

Pink n Brown tag

Hiya, here's a large chipboard tag made primarily for the challenge at cupcake inspirations. Using pink and two browns. I also saw paper blocking on Hels Sheridan's blog and wanted to have a go. I used papermania capsule papers for this. In the top corner I then heated clear utee sprinkled with brown n gold embossing powders and stamped into using Hero Arts stamp. I was wanting the paper blocking to still show through but with some colour, hence my choice of powders.
The butterfly was decoupaged with tiny bits of torn paper then painted with pva glue, acrylics and sprayed with cosmic shimmer and dylusions. It took a long time to cover and I love the metallic effect of the end result. The paper flowers were coloured with dylusions too. Leaves painted with gold acrylic. A fimo painted circle at the top and I little heart charm dangles from the butterfly.
This is one of those that the photo doesn't do justice to it.
Enjoy your weekend

Home Tag

Good Morning, I'm sharing a tag that I have made primarily for the challenge at Tando Creative Challenges. The theme is New Beginnings. I chose to make this for a friend to hang in their new home. Using Eco Green acrylic paints throughout and Tando products as mentioned below. Stamps are Paper Artsy. I did have fun applying paint with the plastic spreader/spatula. This was a first for me. If you're going to try this out, just remeber to dry each colour before using the next, otherwise it can end up a muddy mess, unless you're after that look.
The tie is made by finger knitting some blue lace and a bit of white paint smeared on.
Thanks for having a gander. Have a great day.

I am entering this into the following challenge:

Size 8 tag painted using plastic spreader white paint stenciled through Tando Sequin Mask

Tando chipboard Mini Bookplate painted silver, pva glue dried then Kroma Crackle layer dried, black archival ink lightly over top, Creative expressions screw brads altered
Sun using paint and plastic stopper thingy

stems simply paint and edge of spreader dragged downwards
Paper Artsy stamps on book pages coloured with polychomo pencils

flowers on painted canvas then printed circles using lids etc

Spring in Fashion

Hello, at Crafty Individuals blog, there is a challenge running with the theme Spring In Fashion. So after a bit of thinking I remembered a thick chipboard shoe I had waiting to be altered. So using Eco Green acrylic paints in orchid and rose I sponged it onto my shoe. By building up layers drying each one, I ended up with a fabulous textured feel, reminding me of suede. Then using Crafty Individuals stamp CI -236 stamped the swirl over the shoe. I made the flowers using Crafty Individuals spring papers and various punches.
I was really pleased with the outcome and plan to do something further with this involving a box frame.
Thanks for takin a look.
